The Aftermath of Camp Grant Massacre

After the massacre, a temporary Indian Reservation was established near the Old Camp Grant, but in 1872 it was moved to San Carlos. Shortly afterward, a new Camp Grant was built at the base of Mount. Graham which is more protected from hostile Apache Indians. Old Camp Grant was abandoned in March of 1873. Currently, there are no remains of the original Camp Grant.
